Search Messages Page

The Search Messages page enables you to search for email and multimedia messages containing the specified word or phrase, and/or by other search criteria. The default search criteria searches all messages in the Inbox. You can extend or restrict the scope of the search operation by customizing the search criteria to include messages by date, and selecting all or specific folders in which to search.

You can then use the search results to view, reply to, forward, or delete the selected message.

Toolbar

Provides the following tools:

■ Start Search: Starts the search operation according to the search criteria you defined. For more information, see Finding an Email/Multimedia Message.

■ Delete: Deletes the selected message(s) from the search results area. For more information, see Using Search Results.

■ Forward: Forwards the message you selected from the search results. Opens the Compose message application with the original message included in a slide. You can add more slides and then send the message. For more information, see Using Search Results.

■ Reply: Replies to the sender of the message you selected from the search results. Opens the Compose message application with an empty slide numbered 1. For more information, see Using Search Results.

■ Mark As Unread: Highlights the message selected from the search results. The icon in the Type column reverts to for an unread email message, and for an unread multimedia message.

Search Criteria

■ That Contains..\Graphics.Word or Phrase: Finds only those messages that contain the specified word or phrase. Words and phrases are case insensitive. You can type the complete word, or phrase, or a string, without wildcards or special characters.

■ Include: Includes one of the selected fields in the search operation:

□ Subject: Searches only the subject field of the message

□ Header: Searches the complete header including sender, recipient, and subject fields

■ By Date: Can be one of the following:

□ All: Includes all messages irrespective of date

□ Messages dated/before/after: Includes messages that match the specified date, or only those messages dated before or after the specified date

■ In Folder: Searches the messages in all folders, or only in the selected folder(s). The default search criteria includes only the Inbox.
